Due to the generosity of Provoke Culture, the Two-Thirds United Racial Healing and Unity Micro Grant, the Alternative Schools Network, and Sunbelt Rentals, Instituto Justice and Leadership Academy was able to fund this beautiful mural on the east facing wall of its school. The mural theme is about breaking negative cycles experienced in marginalized communities to create a future that is resourceful and uplifting for everyone. Three key ideas include transformation, recognizing barriers but celebrating growth and change; highlighting the importance of having a reliable support system to help guide and develop new practices; and celebrating the culture of the community and the value in where we come from.
